Jesus Present Before Me: Meditations for Eucharistic Adoration

I have many books that I take with me to Adoration and this is becoming a favorite.

This is a very inspirational book. Today, at Adoration, I meditated on the beginning hymn from the missolet "O Saving Victim, open wide the gate of heaven to us below. Our foes press on from every side. Your aid supply, your strength bestow...." and also from the book on page 134, "Everything about our life has changed as a result of our companionship with Christ, especially the way that we conceive of ourselves, the way that we conceive of events that happen, the way that we conceive of reality itself, in these words Jesus is preparing us for the greatest Newness of all--the Newness that will come in the Eucharist--something that we could never conceive of apart from Jesus. Yes, based on our own inadequate preconceptions these words seem absurd." "Unless you eat my Body and drink my blood, you will not have life within you." I am at peace waiting and watching and listening.
