Sensing God: Learning to Meditate During Lent
I’ve been struggling practicing Centering Prayer, but this amazing book helped me get past the process and focus on the “why” to do it. It was a Lenten experience like I havent had for years…..and now I’m starting the book over from the beginning, as I dont want to loose this peace and this place in my new relationship with my God, and Jesus. I finally understand the Holy Spirit concept….and I’m a 70 year old life-time Catholic?
I didn't read this book but gave it as a gift to another friar. So I don't really have a review to submit.
This book with the readings, reflections and meditation instructions helped me to draw closer to God throughout the season of Lent. Each Lent, I try to select a book whose content will act as a guide to help center my thoughts each day on what really matters the love and nearness of God. This was the book that fit the bill this year. Now during the Easter season I am continuing the meditation practices which I had learned during Lent. I would definitely recommend this book.
I simply didn’t catch on to the meditating process. The word ‘maranatha’ didn’t resound with me, although I know that was just a suggestion and I could try any other word that seemed to fit. Which I also tried. I would have liked to have been more successful, but I don’t fault the book.
I believe the passages and reflections were wonderful and spiritually enhancing.
