If you believe that the only vocation a married woman should have is motherhood and no family planning is allowed in the Catholic Church, this is book for you. I will be honest, I haven’t read this book. I have bought it for my daughter-in-law who is not Catholic and now pray that she didn’t read it. I also bought for my 29 year old daughter, who is expecting her first child in a month. I thought it would be an encouraging book. After our daughter read the first chapter she was nearly in tears. It seems she read that since they did not have children as soon as they were married and practiced natural family planning (as taught in their pre-Cana classes), she was a bad Catholic and a sinner. She is a practicing Catholic and has a strong faith. The author’s strong opinions and judgments have upset her horribly. Fortunately, she has a church family and priests who are excited for her coming birth. They will remind her of how Christ wants us to live. I hope our daughter-in-law will never read it. She already doesn’t like our faith and this will certainly reinforce her negative thoughts about Catholics. I will update this review, if my daughter reads more and feels differently but I didn’t want another buyer to not know what this book is about. I know there are people who feel like the author and this is the book for them.
