At Home in Persimmon Hollow is the first book in a series chronicling the world of Agnes Foster and the people of frontier-era Florida. In 1886, Agnes Foster is forced to leave the Catholic orphanage in New York where she grew up to start a new life as a teacher in Persimmon Hollow, Florida, a town she has only ever seen in a newspaper ad. With nothing but her strong Catholic faith to sustain her, she leaves behind the only home she’s ever known and the little girl she hopes to adopt, and encounters a wild and beautiful new landscape, and a town full of hardworking, faith-filled people. The audio edition of this book can be downloaded via Audible. A Wonderful World to Live In

I was totally immersed in the story! I like being pulled in as an observer. I enjoy the clean language and accurate descriptions of emotions and scenes. I really like book. I am starting “Stitching A Life In Persimmon Hollow”. I know I will not be disappointed. Keep these books coming! Thank you.

A fictional love story with God up front

So enjoyable to read this book where God is the main character-always referrals to the Bible.

It was a gift. I do not know her reaction

This, along with the companion book about Persimmon Hollow, is an uplifting, engaging story that will appeal to teens and to grandmothers (me) too. I enjoyed the setting. Persimmon Hollow is set in an undeveloped area of Florida. For me it was a refreshing glimpse of an area rarely seen as a setting for a novel.
Both Persimmon books are good light, summer reading.
