After Suicide: Seven Things for Catholics to Know (pack of 10)

published by Franciscan Media | Trade Paperback | 48 pages
$ 15.00
Is your parish or organization equipped to provide adequate support after suicide? When someone dies by suicide, an entire community is affected by the trauma. Loved ones and community members left behind after this tragedy need to know how to process the devastation, reconcile their own feelings of powerlessness, and find comfort in the mercy of God. Yet there are a lack of faith-based resources on the subject, and many Catholics are confused about how to process their feelings—sometimes contributing to their grief and pain. Author and renowned spiritual teacher Ronald Rolheiser has worked pastorally in the area of suicide for decades, and he wants to help affected communities heal by clarifying misconceptions about suicide and offering the hope and comfort of God’s mercy. In this booklet designed to provide comfort to parishes, support groups, prayer circles, and loved ones, Rolheiser addresses seven things we should know about suicide that can help communities heal together with unity and compassion. This booklet is sold in packs of 10. If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 24 hours a day at  800-273-8255.

Another great resource from Fr. Ron!

Fr. Rolheiser's essays on suicide were extremely helpful to my family on the loss of our son. His words are practical and comforting, and provide a proper lens with which to view the spiritual aspects of thinking about the loss of a loved one to suicide. This little booklet captures the essence of the messages that he weaves through his essays, and is a convenient booklet to give through our parish pastoral care and funeral ministry to families suffering this type of loss. Thank you, Fr. Ron!
