Biography:

Fr. Richard Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher bearing witness to the universal awakening within Christian mysticism and the Perennial Tradition. He is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fr. Richard's teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy—practices of contemplation and lived kenosis (self-emptying), expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized. Fr. Richard is the author of numerous books, including Everything Belongs, Adam’s Return, The Naked Now, Breathing Under Water, Falling Upward, Immortal Diamond, and Eager to Love: The Alternative Way of Francis of Assisi. Fr. Richard is academic Dean of the Living School for Action and Contemplation. Drawing upon Christianity's place within the Perennial Tradition, the mission of the Living School is to produce compassionate and powerfully learned individuals who will work for positive change in the world based on awareness of our common union with God and all beings. Men and Women: Journey of Spiritual Transformation

$ 19.99

Men and women acquire the wisdom needed to transform the pain of their lives in different ways. As gender roles change, this process also changes, and with it comes the promise of improved relationships. Rohr believes we are in the midst of dynamic spiritual growth opportunities for both genders.

Men: Journey of Transformation Rohr suggests that in our culture, men between 35 and 50 face a crisis of limitation, confronting them with the fact that they cannot have it all. This letting go is a process of descending. They grow to trust through patience and develop compassion as they pass through the dark night of faith and acquire fulfillment in the second half of life.

Women: Journey of Transformation Rohr proposes that for most women, the spiritual journey comes from being placed in an inferior status. Women learn the language of descent early. They meet the mystery of transformation through a dark night. They begin to ascend in their 50s, acknowledging their power and inner strength.
