Here is my feedback:
This is the only book I have read from cover to cover in one sitting. Shortly thereafter I literally ran into Sister Briege McKenna at the Marian Conference at Notre Dame University in May 1990. My sister and I were looking for a pay phone in the basement of the conference hall. We were rounding a corner of a hallway and coming at us from the opposite direction rounding the same corner was Sister Briege. We could not see who was coming at us nor could she see us. We crashed into each other at the corner. I was so shocked to see her, and immediately started “jabbering” about her book. On Sunday, my sister left to drive back to Illinois for Mother’s Day and I was flying back to Denver that night. I was alone for lunch so I went to the Lourdes Grotto on Campus. Who was there? Sister Briege, her priest friend, and a lady from Ireland. I stayed back as they were praying and lighting candles. I kept getting a locution “to ask her.” Two times I said “no”. I knew in my head that I was to ask her to come to Denver. The third time the locution was very very firm so I finally said “yes.” I walked up and excused myself. I told her I was getting a locution. She said, “Yes, I know. You are supposed to ask me to come to Denver. I will be in Denver at St. Thomas Seminary conducting a priest retreat in December 1992. I could give a talk that Friday night. Here is my card.” How awesome is that! At the time I was one of the leaders of the Queen of Peace Center (Medjugorje), and we decided to have a Marian Conference with Sister Briege opening it on that Friday night and ending on Sunday afternoon. Our Conference was the very first event in our brand new Convention Center in downtown Denver. We had 9,000 people in attendance. It had been snowing every weekend that winter, but the weekend of the conference, the sun was out and it was most pleasant. The very next weekend it was snowing again. We had a Crucifix hanging over the alta...
I am learning so much my faith is increasing.
Wonderful book on miracles but I was a bit put off with so much emphasis on the Charismatic Movement in the Church. I became Catholic many years ago to escape the trauma of some unpleasant experiences in a Protestant Charismatic Church so I am uncomfortable with it. This is only my opinion and overall the book was great...so much so that I contacted Sister to request her prayers!
I'm sorry, but I haven't read it yet.
Only par way thru book, but already find it rewarding.
