On May 13, 2017 Catholics worldwide will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, who is believed to have appeared the first time to three peasant children in Portugal on May 13, 1917 and every month thereafter until the great miracle of the sun on October 13, 1917. In Our Lady of Fatima, devotional writer Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle captures in fascinating detail the Church-approved messages, mysteries, and intriguing testimonies of those who have a devotion to this expression of Mary’s loving compassion, with contemporary prayers and reflections that may be used by individuals and families who wish to commemorate and carry out this classic Catholic devotion, as well as those who are new to it.

The title described exactly what the book gave us.

I just finished my second reading of the book. I'm thankful that I did. On my first reading I didn't rush through it. I wanted to take in all that it offered. To my surprise, on the second reading I found things that I didn't remember from my first reading.

The book is well structured with a nice flow, is easy to read and spiritually educational. This was a treasure for the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions of Our Lady.

You will feel compelled to step up prayer life and devotion to the daily Rosary!

I appreciate the in-depth description of the Apparitions and the very human experiences of the children Our Lady appeared to in Our Lady of Fatima by Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle*
The book describes how the children were doubted and interrogated and how they bravely continued to pray and do penance and receive the monthly apparitions.
At the end of each chapter, Donna includes A Time to Reflect, In My Own Life and Prayer. Reflecting on the experiences and responses of the children, the author prompts us to reflect and consider what God is calling each one of us to do, to reflect on the experiences in our own lives that have led us closer or further from God. The author includes prayer asking Jesus to guide us and open our hearts and follow Him.
I really like Donna’s style of writing. Her thorough accounts of the Apparitions combined with the thoughtful reflection prompts and prayer really help to relay the messages of Fatima and compel the reader to step up prayer life and devotion to the daily Rosary.

This book is excellent. Our Blessed Mother reminds us during these apparitions that God has given us the key to Salvation! Our Mother's instructions are clearly laid out in the book and thoroughly explained. This book is a spiritual guide to prayer that I will cherish going forward, and the story telling and references are perfect. I treasure this book and wish to share the book and the First Saturday Devotions with everyone!

Sometimes, when we pray, our daily inconveniences, pains and sufferings cause us to turn inward. We petition our Lord to remove these unwanted things from our lives. Jesus knows how hard life can be. He knows how many things can cause our hearts to grow weary.

The Lord is waiting for us, in order to help us. Jesus does not take the Cross from us, but rather He carries it with us. He provides us opportunities to grow in our relationship with Him.

During this 100th anniversary of Fatima, May 13, 1917, let us recognize the daily opportunities that our Lord presents to us and adhere to our Lady of Fatima’s advice: “

“Pray daily, especially pray the Rosary. Offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended and of supplication for the conversion of sinners.”

Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle is an award-winning and best-selling author of more than twenty books including The Miraculous Medal: Stories, Prayers, and Devotions. She is a journalist, speaker, pilgrimage host, and the EWTN television host and creator of "Everyday Blessings for Catholic Moms" and "Catholic Mom's Café." Donna-Marie was blessed to know St. Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa), and received a special blessing from St. John Paul II for her work on this great saint. Donna-Marie is a frequent guest on national Catholic radio and television.
