Meditatipn during lent

Thanks for the meditation. It helped me in my prayers

Sensing God: Learning to Meditate During Lent

I was hoping to get help learning again how to Meditate in the Catholic tradition. It did help me to quiet my mind gradually. & sit quietly-- which I appreciate. But I was looking for more "active" picturing of a scene & hints on how to "place myself in the presence of God " consciously. I actually did purchase another book during lent on contemplation. as a means of union wth God-- which was more of what I was looking for The "Sensing God" book helped me , but I was also disappointed. I was hoping to learn more from a Benedictine regarding his many years of prayer. But the book was helpful in helping me re-learn how to sit quietly. -- which is no small Thing! And it also reminded me not to judge my prayer time-- God is at work even if I"m not aware of it. The fruits of prayer show in our lives by fostering generous acts of the heart. -- even if we are not consciously aware of how they came to be. So I guess I benefited more from this book than I first realized. Thank you & God bless you!

Sensing God: Learning to Meditate During Lent

Beginning Again

This book was a good reminder of some things I should already know. But we need reminders to keep doing what is good for us. There is often a feeling with meditation that one is always beginning, or learning, as the book title indicates. And so it was a good help for walking through the recent Lenten season and an encouragement to meditate every day, and not being too worried about measuring "how well" I was doing. I appreciated how the author connected meditation with daily life, along with his words of encouragement.

very engaging
